Typical Chemical Composition of E71T-1C Weld Metal

The weld metal chemistry is carefully controlled to achieve stable arc performance and high-quality weld deposits. Typical undiluted weld metal composition includes approximately 0.06% Carbon, 1.40% Manganese, and 0.40% Silicon. This balanced composition supports good penetration, controlled slag formation, and excellent mechanical properties.

Mechanical Properties of E71T-1C Flux Cored Welding Wire

The E71T-1C welding wire produces weld metal with strong and dependable mechanical performance. Typical ultimate tensile strength is around 570 MPa, with a specified minimum of 490 MPa. Yield strength at 0.2% offset typically reaches 480 MPa, exceeding the minimum requirement of 390 MPa. Elongation values are typically around 26%, with impact toughness values reaching up to 60 Joules, meeting and surpassing standard specifications.

These properties make the wire suitable for load-bearing structures and dynamic service conditions.

Recommended Welding Parameters for E71T-1C FCAW Wire

This flux-cored welding wire E71T-1C is available in wire diameters of 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm. The recommended current range is approximately 130–300 amperes for 1.2 mm wire and 200–380 amperes for 1.6 mm wire. Welding is performed using DCEP (Electrode Positive).

The wire is designed for use with CO₂ shielding gas or mixed shielding gases. When using mixed gas, it is recommended to reduce the voltage by 1–2 volts to achieve optimal arc stability and bead profile
