Typical Chemical Composition of 81T-1 Weld Metal
The undiluted weld metal chemistry of 81T-1 FCAW wire is precisely controlled to achieve high strength and toughness. Typical composition includes approximately 0.07% Carbon, 1.50% Manganese, and 0.50% Silicon. This balanced chemistry ensures stable arc characteristics, good penetration, controlled slag formation, and superior mechanical performance.


Mechanical Properties of 81T-1 Flux Cored Welding Wire
In the as-welded condition, 81T-1 welding wire produces weld metal with a typical ultimate tensile strength of around 610 MPa, making it suitable for welding high tensile steels with strength up to 600 MPa.
The weld metal also exhibits strong yield strength at 0.2% offset, good elongation, and reliable impact toughness, supporting long-term structural integrity under dynamic and heavy service conditions.

Recommended Welding Parameters for 81T-1 FCAW Wire
The 81T-1 flux cored welding wire is available in 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm diameters. For 1.2 mm wire, the recommended amperage range is approximately 140 to 310 amperes, while for 1.6 mm wire, it is 220 to 400 amperes. Welding should be performed using DCEP (Electrode Positive).
This wire is suitable for use with COâ‚‚ or mixed shielding gases. When welding with mixed shielding gas, reducing the voltage by 1 to 2 volts is recommended to achieve optimal arc stability and bead shape.
Packing Details of 81T-1 Flux Cored Welding Wire
The wire is supplied in 15 kg vacuum-sealed packs, layer wound on high-strength plastic spools. Vacuum packing protects the wire from moisture absorption, ensuring stable feeding, consistent welding performance, and extended shelf life.
